Grief and Loss Counseling in New York
What is a Support Group?
A support group can help you discover new ways to cope with your grief. You should consider joining a group if you would like to better understand your grief and identify strategies to cope with the changes in your life. In a group, you will find a place where you can meet with others who can understand your experience in a compassionate and caring environment. You don’t have to grieve alone.
Here is a short video about support groups:
A Few Notes about Support Groups
The support groups listed here are meant to be psycho-educational and do not involve the diagnosis of a mental health disorder. The purpose is to provide a safe, supportive environment to share your grief experiences. You will not be able to receive insurance reimbursement for these groups. The cost is $75 per group session.

Mourning Loss Group – Thursday Mornings from 9:30 am to 11:00 am
As a member of this support group, you will be able to talk with others who can relate to your experience with grief and loss. All types of losses are welcome in this group. You will be able to both give and receive support from others in the group through the sharing of your collective experiences.
As a result, you will learn new ways to cope with your grief as you heal from your loss. This is an on-going weekly group and new members can join at the beginning of each month. A two-month commitment to the group is required.
